THE STAGES OF OUR HISTORY

nineteenth century

THE FIRST OIL CRUSHER

Paolo Giunta (our trisaurus) gives life to an oil mill, in via Giuseppe Bianca in Avola, consisting of an animal traction stone oil mill and a wooden screw press that allowed the crushed pasta to be pressed.

1929

THE DRIVING FORCE OF THE ELECTRIC CURRENT REPLACES THE ANIMAL FORCE

The business continues with his son Giovanni Giunta (our great-grandfather) who gives a very important turning point to the oil production technique. A two-wheeled electric crusher and a hydraulic press were installed in Via Fontana. Increases the production capacity of the oil mill. In these years the population of Avolese began to attribute and recognize the oil mill as "u trappitu re pappelli".
